Art in the Box - July & August, 2012

Art in a Box is a juried exhibition hosted at the Half Street Fairgrounds across from Nationals Stadium.  To bring a creative component to this ball game destination, 10 of the containers that make up this temporary destination have been transformed into art installations. Because the aim of this project is to engage the game goer, the call to artists challenged those submitting proposals to embrace the environment and grab attention from behind the containers’ large street facing glass panels. From the many artists that entered projects for review, ten artists were selected for their unique approach. The work varies from 2D and 3D media and ranges from drawing, painting, photography, and mixed media. The great array of styles provides something for every artistic taste and will be on view through the end of October.
